Brineworks Secures €1.8M EIC Accelerator Grant
Brineworks was selected by the European Innovation Council’s (EIC) Accelerator and awarded €1.8M in grant funding to advance its carbon capture technology and deploy its first end-to-end pilot.
The EIC Accelerator is the European Innovation Council’s flagship programme for start-ups and SMEs, offering grants up to €2.5 million. Beyond funding, all projects receive Business Acceleration Services such as access to expert mentors, corporate partners, investors, and ecosystem actors.
In February 2025, the EIC announced 71 companies selected in its most competitive round to date, from 1,211 proposals. Brineworks was among them, receiving €1.8M in grant funding and being highlighted for technology delivering low-cost, sustainable CO₂ and hydrogen sourced from the ocean. This grant strengthens Brineworks’ path from technology validation to end-to-end pilot deployments.
